Allergies…. You are not alone!

When you discovered you or a member of your family had an allergy. How did it make you feel at first? How did people react to you, when you told them that, you or your child has an allergy?

This was how I felt…
I found it a very emotional time when we discovered Cathal had allergies. We got very little support at first, instead people thought I was over reacting. A lot of people would say ” Are you sure he should be taken off that food e.g. wheat, dairy, eggs etc?” or ” Are you sure he can’t have a little bit of e.g. cake, sweets, crisps etc?”
It was so… annoying! They just did not understand, but when they saw the amount of work, it took us to keep Cathal well and healthy, then they understood.

I just wanted to post this, to let all you New Allergy Mums and Dads know that you are not alone!! Also to tell you it does get easier, people are more aware of allergies, even in the last few years it has got much better.
I hope this post helps, and I would love to hear from you on this topic.
